Prep boys soccer: King’s 1, South Whidbey 0

LANGLEY — The Knights and Falcons played 80 minutes of regulation and two five-minute extra periods of scoreless soccer before King’s won the Class 1A District Tournament championship match 4-3 on penalty kicks Saturday.

Nate Richards, Cameron Duncan, Ryan Fransen and Svenn Helleren converted from the spot for King’s. Charley Stelling, Davin Kessler and Kai DaRosa made their penalty kicks for South Whidbey.

King’s advances to play Overlake in the 1A Bi-District Championship at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sultan High School

South Whidbey plays the winner of the Seattle Academy-Meridian bi-district contest on Thursday.
