SPOKANE — Snohomish’s Ethan Casto shot a 70 to tie for seventh place after the first day of competition at Creek at Qualchan Golf Course on Wednesday, two shots behind leader Chris Mogg of Skyline.

Three other local players each fired rounds of 74 to tie for 29th and survive the cut of 75 — Owen Fenner of Monroe, Arnold Ha of Jackson and Luke Kuna of Snohomish.
