Front Porch: Kids meet cops

A “Cops and Kids” event is scheduled Saturday at Alderwood Mall.
The Lynnwood Police Department will have police cars and motorcycles on display. There also will be prizes. It runs from 10 a.m. to noon in the Terraces part of the mall.
Health and Safety Fair: Lake Stevens Fire and Lake Stevens Police host this year’s event 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 13 at the County Market parking lot, 303 91st Ave NE.
Make plans to attend and have some fun while you learn health and safety tips for everyday life. There are 44 booths participating and each booth represents a different health or safety tip for the community. Lake Stevens Police will have their boat on site for tours and offer child photo ID cards. There will be a bouncy house, balloons, face painting, music and more.
Marysville Salary Commission seeks members: The city of Marysville needs three new members for its salary commission. The commission meets annually to conduct reviews of compensation for the mayor and city council.
Commission members must be citizens of Marysville and are limited to two three-year terms. To apply, submit a letter of interest or resume to Deputy City Clerk April O’Brien at Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave., Marysville WA 98270, or by email to aobrien@marysvillewa.gov.
