Discuss Ash Way improvements
Snohomish County Public Works staff have planned an open-house meeting on Wednesday to discuss improvements for Ash Way, between Admiralty Way and Gibson Road. The project is in the early stage of design and could include a roundabout at 18th Avenue West.
Changes under consideration include widening Ash Way from two to three lanes with a new center turn lane; providing better access to buses; and adding sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
Wednesday’s meeting is set for 6 to 8 p.m. at the Odyssey Elementary School multipurpose room, 13025 17th Ave. W, Everett.
For questions, email ROAD@snoco.org or call 425-388-ROAD (7623). The county has more information on its website at www.snohomishcountywa.gov/2694.
Discuss light rail to Everett: Sound Transit has scheduled a meeting at Everett Station on Thursday evening to discuss future light-rail and bus-line expansion.
The time is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the address 3201 Smith Ave.
Sound Transit hopes to put a tax measure on the ballot in November 2016 to pay for up to $15 billion worth of work on new light-rail and bus lines north, east and south of Seattle.
Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson has pushed for a rail route that would serve Paine Field, Everett Station and Everett Community College. Those segments are unlikely to be built until the early 2030s, at the earliest.
As part of the expansion, known as ST3, Sound Transit also is looking into a new bus line down I-405, starting in Lynnwood.
Sound Transit has a website about the proposals, and an online survey, at www.soundtransit3.org.
