BOISE, Idaho — The Everett AquaSox were riding high heading into their first off day of the Northwest League baseball season.

Everett slugged three home runs and the Sox knocked off the Boise Hawks in an 11-1 laugher Monday night. The victory was Everett’s third straight, and the Sox won four of the five games in the series.

The Sox broke open a close game in the top of the sixth inning, scoring seven times to blow past the Hawks.

Yordi Calderon led the barrage, belting two homers. Ryan Uhl also homered, and Rafael Fernandez added three hits for Everett (17-9).

The Sox also received a strong pitching performance as five hurlers combined on a five-hitter. Starter Anthony Misiewicz was impressive, tossing four scoreless frames and striking out four. Rohn Pierce earned the win with two perfect innings of relief.

Boise dropped to 8-18.

Meanwhile, the Sox lost their top pitching prospect as Luiz Gohara was promoted to Clinton of the Mid-A Midwest League prior to Monday’s game. The 18-year-old left-hander from Brazil, who was in his second season with Everett, was 1-2 with a 3.74 ERA in five starts with the Sox this season. He walked 11 and struck out 30 in 212/3 innings.

Everett is off Tuesday, the first off day of the season. The Sox resume play Wednesday when they begin a three-game home series against Vancouver.

Everett held a slender 1-0 lead Monday, then blew the game open in the sixth. Uhl got things started by blasting a three-run homer to left to give the Sox control. The homer was Uhl’s first as a professional.

The Sox then loaded the bases with two out, and Jordan Cowan drew a walk to force in another run. Logan Taylor followed by slicing a two-run double to right to bring home two more, then back-to-back hit batters scored another run as Everett went ahead 8-0.

Calderon hit a solo homer in the seventh and a two-run shot in the ninth, both to left-center, to complete the rout.
