MOUNT VERNON — Sydnie Burtenshaw recorded nine kills and Melanie Benson tacked on seven, but Darrington lost a non-league match on the road Thursday night.

It was the first match of Lisa Wright’s tenure as Darrington head coach. Wright replaced Greg Powell, who retired from coaching after 26 seasons with the Loggers.
