The Everett Silvertips announced Thursday that they have acquired 1998-born center Jaeger White from the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a sixth-round pick in the 2017 bantam draft.

The 17-year-old was the Hurricanes’ fourth round-pick in the 2013 bantam draft. A native of Medicine Hat, Alberta, White had a goal and two assists in 23 games this season. He has scored five goals and tallied 14 assists in 68 WHL games.

White (5-foot-10, 171 pounds) has shown prodigious scoring abilities at the lower levels. He had 12 goals and 17 assists in 29 games with the SEAC Tigers Midget AAA team of the AMHL during the 2013-14 season, and had 72 goals and 93 assists in 58 games with the Burnaby Winter Club Bantam A1-T1 of the PCBHL in 2012-13.

While playing for the Medicine Hat Venom Peewee AA team in 2010-11, White obliterated the SCAPL goal record with 124 goals in 30 games. He is the younger brother of former Moose Jaw first-round draft pick Torrin White, who tallied 50 goals and 60 assists in 251 games over five seasons.

Everett general manager Garry Davidson noted the Tips also acquired Remi Laurencelle from Lethbridge for a sixth-round pick. Laurencelle has blossomed in Everett and is leading the Tips in goals this season.
