Sportsmanship honors Gionet

All the participants at the Eason Invitational are to be highly commended. The weather was fine, spirits were high, outstanding sportsmanship in place, and Tuck Gionet was definitely there in spirit and performance. It was sportsmanship in the best sense and one just knew this one was for Tuck. Entire families turned out, including grandparents, relatives and friends. The day will not be forgotten.

Special thanks to the following: Snohomish High School and Glacier Peak High School staff responsible for the meet, the officials representing the Pacific Northwest Track and Field Association, Coach Steve Bertrand, teacher and coach from Cascade High School, ROTC cadets, The Daily Herald for its coverage Saturday honoring Tuck and coverage of the meet.

This was the first year of the Tuck Gionet Citizenship Award given to one male and one female athlete demonstrating outstanding community service and leadership. Tuck helped create the first Eason Invitational.
