Thursday’s best bets on TV include:

“The Big Bang Theory” puts the finishing touches on another hilariously nerdy season with a finale that introduces Judd Hirsch as Leonard’s (Johnny Galecki) father. Also, Christine Baranski and Laurie Metcalf return as guest stars. 8 p.m., CBS.

Perhaps the only thing crazier than the real-life presidential race is the one happening on “Scandal.” As the frenetic drama ends its season, the candidates prepare to announce their running mates. Meanwhile, Olivia (Kerry Washington) once again finds herself in a potentially dire situation. 9 p.m., ABC.
