LACEY — Glacier Peak fell to Mount Spokane 3-1 in the Grizzlies’ 3A state softball opener Friday afternoon at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.

The Grizzlies play West Seattle in a loser-out game at 2 p.m.

Abigail Doney hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning to tie the score at 1-1. But Mount Spokane (18-7 overall) reclaimed the lead with a bases-loaded walk in the fourth and added another run in the sixth.

Coral Hjert had a double for Glacier Peak (16-9), which just tallied three hits in the contest.
