PASCO — The Everett AquaSox salvaged the final game of their three-game series against the Tri-City Dust Devils Sunday with a 8-0 win at Gesa Stadium.

Four Everett pitchers combined to fan 10 Dust Devils hitters in a three-hit shutout. With the victory, the AquaSox (10-7) moved within a game of North Division-leading Tri-City (11-6). The Frogs concluded their second road trip of the season with a 3-3 record.

Everett starter Tim Viehoff allowed just one hit and struck out four in three scoreless innings. He then yielded to Danny Garcia (1-0). Garcia earned the win with two scoreless innings in his professional debut. Michael Koval and Elliott Surrey each threw two scoreless innings to preserve the shutout.

Jose Leal gave the Frogs the only lead they would need in the top of the second when he followed Nick Thurman’s two-out single with a two-run home run to make it 2-0.

The Frogs tacked on four more runs in the top of the fifth. Kristian Brito’s two-run double scored Bryson Brigman and Nick Zammarelli, and Eric Filia plated Kyle Lewis and Brito to make it 6-0.

Brigman drove in Thurman with an RBI fielder’s choice in the sixth, and Lewis came in on a double play in the seventh to push the lead to 8-0.

The Dust Devils had their best scoring threat in the sixth, but left the bases loaded as Koval worked out of the jam.

Brito finished with two hits and now leads the Northwest League with 20 RBI. Lewis and Thurman each scored twice and Leal also had two hits and drove in two runs.

Nate Easley, Kyle Overstreet and Chris Baker finished with singles for the Dust Devils.

The AquaSox open a five-game home series against the Eugene Emeralds on Monday. Brandon Miller (1-2, 7.45 ERA) will start for the Frogs against Eugene’s Pedro Silverio (1-0, 5.19 ERA). Eugene entered Sunday’s game against Salem-Keizer with the best record in the NWL at 12-4.
