Learn CPR in minutes

Visitors to Mountlake Terrace’s Tour de Terrace on Saturday are encouraged to stop by the CPR booth sponsored by Snohomish County Fire District 1.

The 10-minute lessons are free and include instructions on chest compression CPR without mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. The booth will be located at 224th Street within the festival site at the Evergreen Playfields, 22205 56th Ave. W.

Fire District 1 also offers monthly CPR and first aid classes. Firefighters teach the day-long class and participants can earn a two-year certification in adult, child and infant CPR. Cost is $30. Registration info: www.firedistrict1.org/cpr.

Water camp for kids: There’s still time to sign up for Aqua Kids Day Camp. The camp is packed with fun water activities for kids ages 5-7. On Fridays, the camp meets at Lake Ballinger for canoeing and a barbecue.

Camp sessions follow a weekly theme. The remaining camps are Olympic Spirit for Aug. 8-12; Frozen Fun for Aug. 15-19; Creative Construction for Aug. 22-26; and Greatest Hits for Aug. 29-Sept. 2.

The camp meets weekdays from 9 a.m. until noon at the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion, 5303 228th St. SW. The fee for residents is $120 and $127 for everyone else. To register, call 425-776-9173.

Get involved: Lynnwood needs volunteers to serve on various boards and commissions that give input on different parts of city functions. More info: 425-670-5023.
