Teen held after reports of shots fired at Marysville house

MARYSVILLE — A Marysville teen was arrested for investigation of first-degree assault and weapons violations after an early morning drive-by shooting Wednesday.

No one was injured, but the victims reported five or six rounds were fired into their house and a vehicle parked in the driveway.

“The investigation is on-going and there could be more arrests,” Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.

The shootings were reported around 1 a.m. in the 4900 block of 135th Place NE in north Marysville. Witnesses reported hearing the shots and heard a vehicle speed off. One witness reported seeing a white BMW drive away with its lights off.

Video footage from the neighborhood confirmed the suspect’s car was a white 4-door BMW. Officers located a vehicle matching that description, Lamoureux said. It was impounded and searched, and the driver was interviewed and released.

By Wednesday afternoon, detectives identified a suspect.

They were monitoring the neighborhood when the suspect got into a car as a passenger. Police with guns drawn pulled over the car and the 16-year-old suspect was arrested. He was booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in Everett.

The teen driver was interviewed and released.

Lamoureux said the shooting does not appear to be related to gang activity. Detectives didn’t have a motive Wednesday evening.

“We haven’t determined that yet,” Lamoureux said.
