SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The Little League teams from Lynnwood and Bend each tallied just three hits in Monday night’s contest.
But the Pacific Little League team made the most of its three.
The team representing Washington got RBI doubles by Jacob Gabler and Maddox Stojkovic, and added another hit from Lane Corsi, as Pacific Little League got an 8-2 victory over North Little League at a Northwest Regional game at Houghton Stadium in San Bernardino, California.
Pacific improves to 2-0 at the Little League World Series regional tournament and will face Idaho next at noon Thursday.
The team from Lynnwood got on the board early with a two-run double by Gabler to usher in a five-run first inning for Pacific. The Washington team added two runs in the second and another run in the third to take a commanding 8-0 lead. Gabler finished with three RBI and Stojkovic added two runs batted in.
The team from Bend, Oregon got a run across home plate in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings, but Pacific pitcher Gibby Marshall-Inman got a lineout to end the contest, which started about an hour late due to the game before it running long.
Pacific starter Kam Jordan struck out 11 and allowed onlyone unearned run in five innings to get the win on the mound.
