Deputies looking for teen suspect in Lynnwood apartment shooting

LYNNWOOD — Deputies on Friday were continuing to look for a teen suspect in a shooting that occurred Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 12900 block of the Mukilteo Speedway.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office was called around 3 p.m. that day after a report that shots had been fired, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

Deputies believe an argument turned violent, culminating with the 17-year-old suspect allegedly retrieving a gun and kicking at the door of the victim’s apartment.

A shot was fired, which went inside the apartment, according to a police report. A second shot was fired, but it wasn’t immediately clear where the bullet went.

The suspect left. A search with a police dog failed to find him. Deputies recovered a handgun with two spent shell casings.

The suspect was not found. He is being investigated for attempted first-degree assault.
