Man attempts to molest teen at Lynnwood school

LYNNWOOD — Police issued a warning Friday after a man apparently attempted to molest a boy at a Lynnwood school.

The incident was reported Thursday night at the outdoor basketball court at Beverly Elementary School. The boy, 13, saw a man watching him and others play basketball.

“When the boy was separated from his friends, the man approached him and talked to him briefly before grabbing his hand and attempting to kiss him,” Lynnwood Deputy Police Chief Jim Nelson said. “The boy stopped him and the male then tried to get his phone number.”

The boy called out to his friends and the man ran away.

He is described as muscular, Asian and in his 20s. He spoke limited English and may have a gray bicycle.

No similar incidents have been reported.
