Help spruce up the grounds at the East County Senior Center. Improve an outdoor classroom at Horizon Elementary School. Build a hoop house at Farmer Frog. Help with Full Life’s county fair. Or find something else…

Teach: Monroe seeks teachers from community

Sky Valley Community Schools, sponsored by the Monroe School District, seeks local residents to share their interests and skills with others in the community.

You don’t have to be a certificated teacher or have lots of experience. If you have a special interest or a skill that you would like to share with others, the program would love to hear from you for possible inclusion in the fall and winter class guide.

Most instructors receive 60 percent of their class registration fees.

Instructor forms are due Sept. 16. Classes start in October.

Training starts Sept. 10 and continues on the Sept. 11, 17 and 18.

Volunteers are asked to commit to 12 months of service, which includes four to six on-call shifts per month. A background check is required.
