MARYSVILLE — A man shot outside his Marysville home early Thursday morning was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was believed to be in serious condition, according to police reports.
Detectives are investigating the shooting in the 7600 block of 80th Avenue. It was reported just before 4 a.m.
The victim, 33, called 911. He reported that he had been shot while getting into his truck.
He was able to get back into his home, which is where police found him, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.
The man was alone in the home at the time.
“While we have not yet identified a suspect, we do not at this time believe this to be a random incident and believe residents in the area are not in any immediate danger,” Lamoureux said.
Police found a small fire that was burning in bushes in the area of the shooting. The flames are being investigated as possibly being related to the gunfire, Lamoureux said.
Detectives also hope to talk with people living in and around the Whiskey Ridge neighborhood to ask if they saw any unfamiliar people or vehicles in the area late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. They can call detectives at 360-363-8350.
