Protesters, rioters, media source of shame for great country

Grieving, saddened and frustrated. These are words people are using to describe their state of mind because of the election of Donald Trump as our next president. Some even take their emotions to another level and decide to “protest” and justify it using the Constitution — which is ironic since they show disdain for many of its other amendments.

My emotions? Well let’s just say I wish it went another way, but not with Clinton winning either. I am also saddened, grieving and frustrated, not for the results of the election, but rather the behavior our country has exhibited based on those results. The rioters and protesters, many of whom apparently didn’t vote, truly disgust me. My great country that I served in the military for 13 years has devolved to this. The hypocrisy of those protesters and many in elected positions who openly advocate this behavior is stunning. The media who took a hopefully final dive off the credibility cliff didn’t seem to learn their lesson. Talking heads on social media who could care less about facts have not either. Those things are what form my emotional reaction. I am reminded of this vivid images of purple-fingered voting women in Iraq a decade ago. Those people had genuine reason to fear. The ones we see in the media are a result of the trophy for participation, safe zone brats that we raised.
