Nine escape blaze in Lynnwood; home heavily damaged

LYNNWOOD — Firefighters worked for more than an hour to extinguish a fire Sunday afternoon in unincorporated Lynnwood.

They arrived at a home in the 3500 block of Lincoln Way. There were reports of black smoke and flames coming from the house.

Nine people were inside, but were able to safely evacuate, officials said.

The home sustained heavy damage.

Fire District 1 is investigating the cause of the fire.
