Overly friendly wild critters

Furry or feathered wildlife can encroach a bit closer than is friendly or safe around homes. The Edmonds Floretum Garden Club has scheduled a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday on some of the area’s most common wildlife issues and solving the problems. Karen Awrylo, owner of Critter Control, will talk about protecting people, property and wildlife. The event will be held at the Coldwell Banker Bain meeting room, 108 5th Ave. S, in Edmonds. The workshop is free but donations are welcomed.

Volunteer: Gather your family and friends and help “green” Lynnwood with a MLK Day of Service work party from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Lynndale Park, 18927 72nd Ave. W. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and make other improvements. RSVP at MLKDayofServiceLynndale.eventbrite.com.

Legal clinics: The Everett Public Library has partnered with Snohomish County Legal Services and the Northwest Justice Project to offer monthly legal clinics followed by one-on-one consultations.

These sessions will focus on civil, not criminal, law. The event is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Call 425-257-8000 for more information.
