Help plan festival
The Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival is gearing up for its 2017 event, set for Sept. 8-10. Volunteers are welcome to attend the planning group’s monthly meetings. The next meeting is 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Chamber of Commerce, 4902 76th St. SW. For more information, call 425-353-5516 or go to mukfest.com.
Bus schedules: Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday. Community Transit will run local buses within Snohomish County on regular schedule. Commuter service to and from downtown Seattle and the University District will be reduced.
Climate rally in Everett: 350 Everett, a group of local environmental activists is planning a “pre-inaugural” rally Sunday in the plaza in front of the Snohomish County Courthouse, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m. For more information, contact Jackie Minchew at jwmchew@aol.com.
Register to vote: The last day to register online to vote in the Feb. 14 special election is Monday. It also is the last day to update your address online or by mail. People who are not yet registered to vote in Washington can register in person at the county auditor’s office until Feb. 6. The Feb. 14 election includes measures from the Granite Falls and Stanwood-Camano school districts and from Sno-Isle Libraries for the Lake Stevens area. To register, go to myvote.wa.gov.
