Mill Creek to start talks for new contract with Fire District 7

MILL CREEK — City officials are beginning to negotiate a new contract with Fire District 7, which provides fire and emergency medical services to Mill Creek.

District 7 also serves Maltby and Clearview and recently merged with District 3 in Monroe. In the last two weeks of December, nearly 20 percent of emergency calls in District 7 were in Mill Creek, according to a news release.

The city and the district plan to start meeting next week, district spokeswoman Heather Chadwick said.

They have operated under a contract since the 1990s.
