REFLECTIONS: 22-shot third period not enough in Silvertips loss

The Game
Once again it wasn’t the Everett Silvertips’ night.
They allowed single goals in both the first and second periods, but the game was still within reach when the third began.
Then, with the penalties 4-1 in favor of Spokane, the fireworks began. Everett assistant coach Mitch Love was assessed a bench minor and, at some ensuing point given a game misconduct and ejected. He then continued to speak his mind and was given a delay of game penalty on his way to the locker room.
The Chiefs then scored almost immediately on the ensuing 5-on-3 power play to push their lead to 3-0. The Tips battled back furiously with 22 final-period shots (thanks in part to their own 5-on-3 advantage) and got one past Spokane goalie Jayden Sittler, but couldn’t convert again.
One on the board by Sutter, 22 shots in the 3rd.

Spokane added a late empty-netter as Everett head coach Kevin Constantine pulled Carter Hart with just under four minutes to play. Should it have been hooking, tripping or interference on Kailer Yamamoto? I’ll let you be the judge:
How about the effort by Kailer Yamamoto on this ENG. His fourth point on the night. pic.twitter.com/mrc4bFZpWU

Coach KC went for it pulling Hart with 4 min left down 2 & I liked it. Didn't pay off but ice was tilited & the Tips needed 1 right then

The teams each wound up with 33 shots, but that’s a misleading stat as two-thirds of Everett’s shots came in the final period. The Tips also struggled in the opening period at Seattle on Sunday following a pair of excellent starts in victories over Portland and Kamloops last Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The Seattle Thunderbirds forced overtime Wednesday in Kamloops to move into a tie with the Tips atop the Western Conference and the U.S. Division. Everett has a pair of important games this weekend with Kelowna on Friday and Seattle Saturday.
The Turning Point
Assistant coach Mitch Love was tossed 54 seconds into the third giving Spokane a 5-on-3 it converted to go up 3-0.
Three Stars
1. Spokane F Kailer Yamamoto: The draft-eligible Spokane native scored the second goal and assisted on the other three.
2. Spokane F Jaret Anderson-Dolan: The other top draft prospect scored the first goal and assisted Yamamoto.
3. Everett F Riley Sutter: The second-year center scored Everett’s lone goal.
