It’s game day on Vancouver Island as the Everett Silvertips visit Save-On-Foods Centre for Game 3 against the Victoria Royals.

It appeared several weeks ago the Ice were headed for Nanaimo, but residents overwhelmingly voted down funding for an $80 milllion arena.
– The folks over at McKeen’s Hockey have this scouting report released today that includes a look at Everett goalie Carter Hart.
– Junior Silvertips coach Turner Stevenson was named the NAPHL 16U Coach of the Year, the club announced Tuesday.

Stevenson coached the 16U squad to a 17-4-1 regular-season record and reached the regional finals of the NAPHL playoffs. The club recently announced plans to add an 18U team next season that Stevenson will also coach.
