The Game
There were some good things to be sure. The Silvertips created many more chances early than they did in Friday’s opener and even took their first lead of the series into the second period. Everett seemed to have momentum on its side.

Things changed in a span of 18 seconds. That’s when Seattle scored on back-to-back shifts off of two Everett turnovers to turn a 2-1 Tips lead into a 3-2 Thunderbirds advantage in no time flat. For good measure the T-Birds added another Ethan Bear power-play goal in the frame that stood up as the game-winner.

Things are now quite dire as the Tips face a two-games-to-none deficit with Games 3 and 4 in Kent where they haven’t won all season. Home ice was the objective in winning the division and Seattle has wrenched that away with two road wins. However, both Everett losses were by a single goal, a theme that has carried over from the regular season. As long as the games are close the Tips have a chance. But so far it’s been Seattle that has taken advantage.
Everett’s top regular-season goal scorers were held off the scoreboard. Dominic Zwerger, Patrick Bajkov and Matt Fonteyne have combined for just one assist in the first two games of the series. Instead Saturday’s goals came from Bryce Kindopp, Connor Dewar and Eetu Tuulola. It was the second goal of the series for Tuulola.
The Turning Point
The Thunderbirds scored twice in an 18-second span in the second to take the lead for good.
Three Stars
1. Seattle D Ethan Bear: The Western Conference Defenseman of the Year had the game-winning goal and added an assist.
2. Everett F Connor Dewar: “The Pitbull” had the go-ahead goal in the second.
3. Everett F Bryce Kindopp: Scored the Tips’ first goal.
