EVERETT — Police have arrested a third suspect in a March 15 drive-by shooting that damaged a BMW.
Prosecutors already have charged two men with drive-by shooting. Everett police arrested the third man Wednesday for investigation of first-degree assault. He is believed to be the shooter, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said.
Investigators believe the Everett man, 18, is a gang member. The victims told police the suspects were flashing gang signs before firing on the car. They said they didn’t know the suspects.
The incident unfolded outside the Kush Mart on Evergreen Way. The victims reported that a suspect was upset at how someone in their group looked at him. The suspects allegedly followed the victims as they drove away. They blocked the BMW at Madison Street and Olympic Drive.
That’s where the teen allegedly opened fire. No one was hit but five shots struck the car. The suspect vehicle sped away. Three passengers eventually jumped out of the car. The driver stopped at a fast food restaurant on Evergreen Way, where the victims held him down until police arrived.
