MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Detectives are investigating whether shootings in Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds early Thursday were connected.
No one was injured. No arrests have been made.
A gunfight was reported at 12:39 a.m. along 60th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace. Officers found shell casings from a shotgun and a 9mm handgun, said Mountlake Terrace police Cmdr. Doug Hansen. A witness told police one of the shooters wore a red hooded sweatshirt.
Minutes later, Edmonds officers received reports of speeding cars and gunshots in the 9600 block of 240th Street SW. Police saw two cars that had collided. One man who stayed behind said at least two people ran away after the crash, Edmonds police Sgt. Josh McClure said. Preliminary information indicates someone had shot at the man during some sort of road-rage encounter, McClure said.
Two guns and two cars were collected as evidence, McClure said.
