Fireworks noise is a sound of freedom

Published 1:30 am Sunday, July 9, 2017

I’m sitting on my deck listening to fireworks sound off. I live in Marysville where a new ban went into effect this year. It has been very quiet, but tonight, in honor of our country, the sounds are robust.

John Adams would be proud. To me, it’s a joyous sound. It lasts for a few hours and then is gone for another year. I own a dog, and he is fine. Life is good when the sound of gun powder igniting only means you live in a country that is celebrating 241 years of freedom. Many souls in this world would love to be able to find joy in this sound. May we always be able to celebrate this day.
