Embrace examples of Americanism, reject liberalism

We are seeing examples of true Americanism these days. We have seen Americans coming together to help each other in Houston. We have seen Americans assisting with wildfire fighting in Canada. And now locally, The Herald’s Sept. 1 story of 4-H members stepping forward to save a baby piglet at the Evergreen State Fair with donated goat’s milk. These are fine examples of what it truly means to be an American with the morals and ideals of citizenship and responsibility, of helping neighbors and strangers in times of need. I salute the American patriots who sacrifice, volunteer, and go into harm’s way on behalf of others. You are what makes this country great.

In direct contrast are the roving bands of vicious, anti-American human waste we see haunting our cities and universities under the various left-wing liberal banners that we have come to despise. Antifa. Alt-left. Calling it progressivism, the statist mindset focuses exclusively on tearing down what we are and destroying what we can be. Our culture, or society, indeed our way of life is in grave danger from the threat of liberal progressivism. Reject this rot, embrace Americanism.
