Reminder: Historic Everett’s self-guided home tour is today
Everett artist Elizabeth Person was commissioned to paint a portrait of the featured house on Historic Everett’s home tour, set for Sept. 23. That’s Penny in front of the porch.

Historic Everett’s home tour is today

Historic Everett’s self-guided tour of seven homes is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

Begin the tour at the Van Valey House, 2130 Colby Ave., where you can buy a ticket, pick up a brochure and get a map. Cost is $20.

Docents will be on hand at each of the homes to check tickets and provide an introduction. The homes have been preserved or restored to each house’s original character and architecture, which is the mission of Historic Everett.

The featured home is owned by Nikki Oku and Tim Sonia and their puppy, Penny, who is prominent in the tour poster painting by Everett artist Elizabeth Person.
