SEATTLE — Mariners outfielder Guillermo Heredia underwent successful surgery to repair a Bankart lesion in his right shoulder Monday in Miami, the team said in a press release.
Heredia will begin rehabilitation immediately and should be ready for spring training.
The surgery, performed by Dr. John Uribe, should help alleviate the nagging pain and frequent partial dislocations of the shoulder that have plagued Heredia for the last two seasons.
In his first full big-league season, Heredia hit .249 in 123 games.
