REFLECTIONS: Silvertips drop third straight contest

The Game
Everett Silvertips color commentator Justin Morrison (give him a follow) summed it up best with a tweet between the second and third periods:

That held true in the third period. Everett outshot Moose Jaw 20-5 in the final stanza, but only scored once as the Warriors garnered a 6-3 victory.
Everett’s inability to finish on its multitude of chances continues to be a problem. The Tips have recorded 48 shots in each of their last two games, yet have scored just five goals on those 96 combined shots.
Sean Richards earned third-star honors for the Tips as he recorded the first multi-goal game of his WHL career and tripled his season scoring total with a pair of goals Friday. Richards was a healthy scratch Wednesday after taking penalties head coach Dennis Williams called “undisciplined” in back-to-back games.
“He responded the way we wanted,” head coach Dennis Williams said. “He was good all week in practice. He knew, and the guys know the consequences of undisciplined penalties like that. Now we’d like to see him keep that tempo and that consistency up.”
The Tips also lost rookie forward Dawson Butt in the first period. Williams said he hadn’t yet spoken to Everett trainer Blake Draughon, but Butt had his right arm in a sling in the tunnel after the game. We’ll continue to monitor that throughout the weekend.
The Turning Point
The Warriors scored three times in a span of three minutes, seven seconds to turn a 2-2 tie into a 5-2 lead.
