Mayor honors chaplain

Joel Johnson received the Arlington Mayor’s Volunteer Award on Nov. 13.
Johnson is the director of Support 46, a chaplain and support program that provides aid and comfort to city emergency responders, victims and families. Support 46 crews are dispatched by 911 when there is a natural disaster, structural or brush fire, serious accident, need for a death notification, search and rescue, or other trauma.
Johnson is also now executive director of Hope Unlimited, the parent organization of Support 46. Learn more at hopeunlimitedwa.org.
