Support for Alzheimer’s caregivers
A Sno-Isle Libraries “Issues That Matter” forum for Alzheimer’s caregivers is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lynnwood Library, 19200 44th Ave. W.
Representatives from several groups, including the Alzheimer’s Association of Washington State, will explain what resources are available to families and others faced with the challenge of maintaining their own mental and emotional resilience while caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.

Drone racing for all skills
DieHard RC now holds weekly Tech Tuesday programs, 7-10 p.m. Tuesdays through March 6 at the Marysville Boys & Girls Club, 1010 Beach Ave. Pilots of all skill levels can learn more about drone racing. Hanging out and “tech time” is free. Racing costs $10 and includes two Taco Bell tacos.

Drone racing will be a key feature of the 2018 NW Model Hobby Expo, set for Friday through Sunday at the Evergreen Fairgrounds in Monroe. Along with the NW Drone Fest, the event features 3D printing, robotics, remote control cars, boats and trains. Admission is $10 most days, or $20 for all three days. Kids younger than 10 are free with paying adult. Parking is free.

College open houses
Edmonds Community College hosts an open house for its child, youth and family studies bachelor’s degree program, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Gateway Hall 352 on the campus at 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood.
EdCC launched the program last fall. The next cohort begins fall 2018. The application period opens in late January.

Ocean Research College Academy (ORCA), an early college program for high-schoolers offered by Everett Community College, hosts an information session, 6-7:15 p.m. Thursday at 1205 Craftsman Way, Suite 203, in Everett.
Visitors and prospective students can see student work, meet faculty, learn about the program and see the facility, including the oceanography research lab and 120-gallon seawater tank.

WAYS TO HELP
Lake Stevens tree planting
The Adopt A Stream Foundation is seeking volunteers to help plant 400 trees along Catherine Creek from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 10.
The planting should improve habitat for salmon, trout and other wildlife. It will focus on an area where the creek flows into a large, open field owned by the city of Lake Stevens. It’s reachable from a trail at 2805 Grade Road. The trees range in height from about 3 to 5 feet.
Planting tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided.
