Teenager dies after fall from ledge near North Bend

NORTH BEND — Authorities say a 16-year-old boy died after falling from Rattlesnake Ledge near North Bend.

Eastside Fire & Rescue told The Seattle Times that the teenager was hiking with three others Saturday morning when he slipped from a rocky ledge while taking a picture.

Eastside Fire Captain Steve Westlake saidthe drop from the top of the popular area is about 100 to 200 feet.

The boy’s name hasn’t been released.
