Regarding the politics of initiatives

Following the saga of Initiative 1639, I admit that I am not surprised. Apparently there are two key factors that are crucial in an initiative making it to the ballot: First is the number of signatures obtained. Second is the popularity of the initiative backers.
Too bad for Tim Eyman that the second requirement will most likely rule out his participation in the process.
I look forward to receiving the 30 pages required to explain I-1639 in my voter’s pamphlet soon.
