Closure of Highway 524 delayed
Work was postponed on two roundabouts being installed on Highway 524 on either side of the I-405 underpass near Lynnwood due to the rainy forecast. The full closure is now tentatively set for 9 p.m. Oct. 5 to 6 a.m. Oct 8. A detour will be posted.

The Snohomish Classic Car & Hot Rod Display runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday around downtown Snohomish.

Chicken dinner time
A chicken dinner is offered noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, coleslaw, vegetables, roll, drink and dessert for $9, $8 seniors, $5 children younger than 12. Proceeds benefit senior center programs and services.

Painting for stroke survivors
Stroke survivors are invited to take part in a group mural-painting project, 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Rainier Room of the Providence Regional Medical Center office building, 1330 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Artist Maria Casey leads this “Strokes for Stroke” activity, which encourages participants to explore their creativity and emotions while improving hand function. Free. RSVP requested.

Celebrate salmon
A Salmon, Steelhead and Trout Celebration fundraiser is planned for 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Northwest Stream Center at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. Admission for the 21-and-over event is $25. Reservations required. Enjoy wine, local coffee, smoked salmon and appetizers, as well as a nature walk and live gypsy jazz. Proceeds benefit the Streamkeeper Academy Endowment.

Volunteer at theater
Historic Everett Theatre seeks volunteers to usher and work in concessions. Must be available once a month on weekends.

Vendors needed
The Mukilteo School District’s social committee is planning a Craft Fair to raise money for scholarships. Proceeds come from vendor table fees and a raffle. Vendors may apply for the event, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at Mariner High School. Spaces are limited.

Donate toys
The seasonal kickoff for Toys for Tots is set for next month at the Everett Mall. Two events feature activities, kids crafts and raffles. People are asked to donate cash and new, unwrapped toys. The first event is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 13, with a Santa visit from noon to 3 p.m. The second event is noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 14, with a Santa visit from 1 to 4 p.m.
