Everett Meaningful Movies: “We the People 2.0” is showing at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. This film explores the work of the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund, which helps people protect themselves against pollution, environmental damage and other hazards by writing community home rule charters spelling out citizens’ rights, community rights and the rights of nature. Edmonds Center for the Arts: A free screening of “The Story of Fascism in Europe,” a movie by Rick Steves, host of the travel TV show “Rick Steves’ Europe,” is scheduled at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. The screening will be followed by a discussion and question and answer session with Steves. The event is free but registration is required. Silent Movie and Pipe Organ Night: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2, Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. “The Shock,” a 1923 film about a gangster and the underworld, and starring an actor that graced the Everett stage at one time, Lon Chaney. A crime boss sends a gangster to San Francisco to expose a banker they have been blackmailing. However, the gangster meets and falls in love with the banker’s daughter. Tickets are $17. Edmonds Center for the Arts Film Cabaret Series: The series opens Nov. 8 with “A Mighty Wind,” co-starring the ECA presented artist Jane Lynch, the 2003 film is a mockumentary following 1960s folk acts as they reunite to play a live TV concert at New York’s Town Hall. The cabaret entertainment that night is by Miles and Karina. Cabaret starts at 6:30 p.m. with film screenings at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20, or $10 for just the movie. Wilder Film Series: “Some Like It Hot” is showing at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Evergreen Branch, Everett Public Library, 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett. A screening and discussion of the 1959 film, which the American Film Institute considers the funniest film of all time, starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe.
