Man accused of driving intoxicated, crashing into trees

DARRINGTON — A man and woman were hospitalized after an allegedly intoxicated driver crashed early Thursday.
The Darrington man, 21, was driving a black 2013 Jeep Wrangler east on Highway 530, according to a report by the Washington State Patrol.
He reportedly drifted off the road and tried to correct it by swerving left. The vehicle crashed into some trees around 2:15 a.m., about three miles north of Darrington in Skagit County, according to the state patrol.
The driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The passenger, a 21-year-old Darrington woman, was taken to Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington.
