Fatoumata Jaiteh

Meadowdale | Girls Basketball

Jaiteh, a sophomore, banked in the deciding 3-pointer with 1 minute, 49 seconds remaining in regulation to send the eighth-seeded Mavericks to the 3A state regionals with a 30-28 victory over No. 2 seed Shorecrest on Saturday. Jaiteh finished with seven points.

Elijah Johnson

Shorecrest | Boys Basketball

Johnson, a freshman, scored a game-high 19 points as the ninth-seeded Scots clinched a berth to the 3A state regionals with a 63-49 win over No. 3 seed Marysville Getchell on Saturday.

Grayson LeCompte

Edmonds-Woodway | Boys Wrestling

LeCompte, a senior, was the Class 3A runner-up at 126 pounds at Mat Classic XXXI. He lost to four-time finalist Clayton Gilliam of North Central in the finals, but not before reaching the title bout with dominant wins in his quarterfinal and semifinal matches.

Vlad Gilszmer, Slava Gilszmer, Maxwell Fang, Alex Kirby

Kamiak | Boys Swimming

The Knights’ 400-yard freestyle relay team won the Class 4A championship in the final race of the state meet at the King County Aquatic Center on Saturday. Their effort helped Kamiak to a fifth-place finish in the team standings.

Chanel Siva

Stanwood | Girls Wrestling

Siva, a junior, outlasted Thomas Jefferson’s Goddess Ma’alona-Faletogo 3-2 in the 235-pound final to win the area’s only state title at Mat Classic XXXI.
