EVERETT — A man and two friends with guns went to the Silver Lake Safeway on Wednesday to try and get his stolen vehicle back, Everett police say.
The man told officers that his work truck filled with tools was stolen in Seattle. Later, he said he found some of the items for sale online.
He met with the seller around 10:30 a.m. at the grocery store. He looked at the tools and said they were his. His two friends grabbed the seller.
Police arrived and arrested the man attempting to sell tools for investigation of trafficking stolen property.
Another man with the suspected thief took off running. Police couldn’t find him.
The two men with guns were not arrested.
Police are investigating whether their actions were lawful, officer Aaron Snell said.
No shots were fired, and there were no serious injuries. The truck was impounded.
