Adopt-A-Basket: Donations are now being accepted to support Edmonds’ annual flower program, where flower baskets decorate downtown light posts or plants added to corner parks. Nearly 140 flower baskets will be planted in the city this year. Each is available to adopt for $100 for the season. The baskets are displayed in early June through September. Corner park flower plantings are available for $250 for the season. Call 425-771-0230 to check on current basket and park availability. Sustainable gardening series: The Master Gardener Foundation’s 16th annual sustainable gardening speaker series runs through April. On April 5, hear from Kevin Jones on “The Hidden Treasures of Pelargoniums and Fuchsias” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. Camano Spring Walk: Join Friends of Camano Island Parks members on a guided community walk April 6 at Four Springs Lake Preserve. Meet at 9:50 a.m. in the Four Springs parking lot on Lewis Lane, off Camano Hills Road on the west side of Camano Ridge Road. The 2-mile perimeter trail includes two 50-foot fairly steep hills. Pollinators: Dave Pehling, a retired WSU Snohomish County Extension zoologist, will talk about the best pollinators specific to each type of fruit tree grown in the area from 7 to 9 p.m. April 11 at the Snohomish Boys and Girls Club, 402 Second St., Snohomish. Pehling is a journeyman beekeeper through the Washington State Beekeepers Association. The meeting of the Snohomish County Fruit Society is open to the public. More at www.snohomishcfs.wordpress.com.
Egg Scramble: Scramble through the grass in Everett’s arboretum to find colorful eggs filled with seeds, then plant them with dirt in the shell and take them home in an egg carton from 1 to 2 p.m. April 20 at the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Dress for the weather, rain or shine. Meet in the arboretum lawn near the gazebo. RSVP to 425-257-8597. Free to members, $10 for non-members.
Earth Day celebration: A celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day is scheduled at 1:15 p.m. April 26 at Lake Tye Park, 14964 Fryelands Blvd., Monroe. Tree planting by Fryelands Elementary School students. More at tinyurl.com/monroearbor.
Hartsfield quilts: The Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum, 703 S. Second St., La Conner, is exhibiting the Hartsfield Quilt Collection through April 28. The quilt collection, originally owned by a slave family, dates back to the early 1850s. The 12-piece exhibit will be accompanied by family photographs and historical context. Admission is $7 general, $5 military and students, free for children 12 and younger. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. More at www.qfamuseum.org.
Horticulture scholarship: The Floretum Garden Club is offering a $1,500 scholarship to high school graduates, community college students or individuals planning a career in a horticultural field. The scholarship recipients may attend any community college, college, technical school or university in Washington during the year following the award. Application forms are available at local school scholarship offices, the horticulture department, or by emailing JoyceJohnson310@comcast.net. The deadline for submitting applications is May 6.
