ARLINGTON — Two Arlington Police Department officers were hurt early Thursday morning after an allegedly impaired driver hit their SUV near Arlington.

The field training officer and officer in training were westbound on Highway 530 and tried to turn left, just west of Smokey Point Boulevard, the Washington State Patrol said. A 24-year-old Arlington woman in a Toyota Camry was driving without the lights on and hit the police SUV on the passenger side around 1:40 a.m., according to the State Patrol report.

The woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. She later was arrested and taken to the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of driving under the influence. Both Arlington Police officers were taken to Cascade Valley Hospital for minor injuries and released.
