Break the law, if you have to. What you are doing matters more.

If you find anything blocking you, go around it. Keep going, no matter the cost, no matter the unscrupulous people you might need to contract with in order to get from Point A to Point B.

The end result will be worth it. Yours is a dream worth protecting.

Many details of the environment you are about to pass through could slow your progress, but you must not let them. What you are engaged in is too vital. You have a promise to keep. Think of that promise, and continue.

Go full speed ahead, paying no heed to what anyone says. You must not hesitate even for geographical features that should serve as barriers: not rivers, not deserts, not people’s insistence that you stay off land that belongs to them. People will tell you no. People will tell you all kinds of things. Ignore them. When you arrive at your final aim, you will be protected.

What you’re seeking is more critical than what the law says or what the map says. Do not worry about any boundaries you might be crossing. Do not let any impediment bar you from completing your journey. Don’t let anything stop you that they put in your way. You must scale any obstacle, break any barrier.

Don’t worry about it. When you get through, you will be safe.

You must believe that.

This is what President Trump, with no apparent irony, has told the people responsible for building his border wall.

Irony was found dead, impaled on a pointed metal stake between 18 and 30 feet in height that had for unclear reasons and at great cost been painted matte black.
