If you don’t like an opinion column, don’t read it

In response to the letter to the editor written by Gary Fast (“Columnists harp on Trump too often,” The Herald, Aug. 28): His well-written comment is noted and respected, if not agreed with.

Although Sid Schwab is not a favorite of mine, I very much enjoy Eugene Robinson’s writing and look forward to his columns. I consider him brave and a journalistic hero. The Washington Post is lucky to have him.

On the other hand, Alexandra Petri’s smirk smile and idiotic blather puts me on edge all day, so I read her stuff not at all.

Here’s a suggestions: If you are seriously troubled by left-leaning journalists, don’t read their columns.

Let’s both agree and celebrate the shaky fact that, for the moment at least, we still have a free press. God help us if we ever don’t.
