Here are the prep stars of the night for Saturday, Oct. 12:
Aiden Emerson, Arlington boys cross country
Emerson, a sophomore, was the top local finisher in the varsity boys team average under 18:00 race at the Hole in the Wall Inviational at Lakewood High School with a personal-best time of 15 minutes, 34 seconds. His time was good for 10th overall.
Micah Murphy, Lynnwood boys cross country
Murphy, a senior, finished second by .1 seconds in the varsity boys team average over 18:oo race at the Hole in the Wall Invitational with a personal-best time of 15:53.8.
Naomi Smith, King’s girls cross country
Smith, a senior, was the top local finisher in the varisty girls team average under 22:30 race at the Hole in the Wall Invitional. She ran the race in 17:37.5 to take sixth place.
Kaia Swegler Richmond, South Whidbey girls cross country
Swegler Richmond, a junior, took second in the varsity girls team average over 22:30 race with a personal-best time of 18:50.5 at the Hole in the Wall Invitational.
Brandon Parrish, Cedar Park Christian football
Parrish, a junior, ran for 102 yards — including a 19-yard go-ahead, fourth-quarter touchdown — on 13 carries in the Eagles’ 14-7 win over South Whidbey.
