Hot Tickets: What to watch this week in prep sports

Some of the many non-football high school sports events to keep an eye on during this busy week of postseason action:
Volleyball: 4A Wes-King Bi-District semifinals, 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson H.S. Wesco 4A champion Lake Stevens faces KingCo 4A Tournament runner-up Mount Si in the first semifinal, followed by Wesco 4A runner-up Jackson against KingCo 4A champion North Creek in the second semifinal. The winners clinch state berths and advance to Saturday’s bi-district title match.
Girls soccer: 3A state first round, Mountain View at Marysville Getchell, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Coming off its first-ever district championship, Marysville Getchell seeks its first-ever state victory. The winner advances to face either Seattle Prep or Central Kitsap in a state quarterfinal match later this week.
Girls soccer: 4A state first round, Sumner at Glacier Peak, 6 p.m. Wednesday. Wesco 4A champion Glacier Peak makes its first state appearance since 2010 and its third in program history. The winner advances to face either Puyallup or Curtis in a state quarterfinal match later this week.
Girls soccer: 4A state first round, Lake Stevens at Union, 6 p.m. Wednesday at McKenzie Stadium (Vancouver). Lake Stevens makes its third consecutive state appearance and its fourth in five years. The winner advances to face either Inglemoor or Bellarmine Prep in a state quarterfinal match later this week.
Girls soccer: 3A state first round, Snohomish at Lake Washington, 7 p.m. Wednesday. Wesco 3A/2A champion Snohomish makes its third state appearance in four years. The winner advances to face either Gig Harbor or Roosevelt in a state quarterfinal match later this week.
Volleyball: 3A Northwest District semifinals, 7 p.m. Thursday at Marysville Pilchuck H.S. Two winner-to-state district semifinal matches take place simultaneously in Marysville Pilchuck’s gym. The winners advance to Saturday’s district championship match.
Girls swim and dive: State championships, Friday-Saturday at King County Aquatic Center (Federal Way). The state championships begin with Friday’s prelims and continue with Saturday’s finals. The 4A finals begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by the 2A/1A finals at 2:10 p.m. and the 3A finals at 7 p.m.
NOTE: This write-up was updated to reflect a change in venues for Tuesday’s 4A bi-district volleyball semifinals. The matches were moved to Jackson High School because of a conflict at Glacier Peak High School, the original site.
