Everett needs to keep its senior center open

I am sorry to hear that Everett’s Carl Gipson Senior Center will be closed the remainder of this year and possibly next year as well. For many senior citizens the center is a place to have a hot meal a cup of coffee and spend time with friends. Many of the seniors are there every day; it’s their home away from home, and they will miss the interaction with friends.

I’m hoping the City Council will rethink their decision and keep the Carl Gipson Senior Center open.

I wonder if other cities will follow suit and close their senior centers.
