Driver hits, kills pedestrian near Arlington, then flees

ARLINGTON — A driver hit and killed a Marysville man then drove off early Tuesday morning.

The manner of death was ruled a suicide, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. in the 2000 block of 236th Street Northeast outside of Arlington, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The Marysville man, 44, wore a bright orange hoodie and camouflage shorts when the driver ran into him. Then the driver left westbound.

Both directions of 236th Street Northeast were closed for several hours between 19th Avenue Northeast and 27th Avenue Northeast.

Witnesses told investigators the suspect vehicle could be a SUV.

The sheriff’s office is seeking other witnesses. They can call 911 or the tip line at 425-388-3845.
